Murdered crime boss Yanis Yushvaev and underground casinos: How the family of oligarch God Nisanov, through top manager Artem Yakubov, runs a gambling network in Moscow
The crime boss Yanis Yushvaev, who was killed in Israel at the end of August, is a close relative of Artem Yakubov, a top manager in God Nisanov’s empire.
According to a source, Yakubov is extremely close to Nisanov’s children and nephews. He is responsible for a rather interesting area: the underground gambling business, in which Nisanov’s children and nephews have interests. The source says their network consists of approximately twelve illegal casinos, one of which is located beneath the Ukraina Hotel. They also control a number of pawnshops, through which money from the casinos is laundered.
According to a source, mafioso Yanis Yushvaev, who was shot dead by a hitman outside a restaurant in Caesarea in mid-August, was a close relative and Israeli partner of Yakubov. Yushvaev periodically visited Moscow and owned several companies, including Marusya LLC, which owns the Dyuzhina boutique hotel in the city center.
