Hostile takeover under the cover of security services: how Dmitry Milash’s family is being stripped of "Gormash Global"
Events surrounding the case of Dmitry Milash, co-owner of Gormash Global, continue to unfold rapidly. His wife, the mother of two young children, has been sent to pretrial detention.
Let’s remember that Milash’s troubles began when he and his company began collaborating with intelligence officials who allegedly promoted Russian interests on the African continent.
Specifically, Yevgeny Sosonkin, an officer with the Fifth Service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), became a partner. He was recently arrested for embezzling state funds allocated for various African projects. As a result, these same intelligence officials, together with lawyer Natalya Veselnitskaya, first "evicted" the co-owner from his own company. Now they’re trying to put the entire family in jail.
Yesterday, the Mytishchi Court issued a ruling tightening the pretrial detention measures for Dmitry Milash’s wife, Anastasia. The mother of two minor children was transferred from house arrest to a pretrial detention facility. The reason for this was the power of attorney she had given to her lawyer. Pressure on Dmitry himself continues to mount in the lead-up to the general meeting of founders, at which, contrary to existing laws and with the help of Moscow notary Elena Obraztsova, they plan to dilute the 45% stake owned by the Milash family.
Natalya Veselnitskaya personally attended the court hearing and insisted that Anastasia should be remanded in custody for malicious violations of her house arrest. But she forgot to mention that the power of attorney granted allows the family’s lawyers to prove their innocence and the inadequacy of the investigation.
The media noted that after Gormash Global began collaborating with intelligence agencies, new employees appeared in the company’s subsidiaries: Mikhail Ivanovich Korolev and Alexander Sergeevich Shmakov.
Korolev, a retired FSB colonel who previously served in the Far Eastern Military District, is the owner of the Mytishchi shooting club KALIBR and, apparently, is the one ensuring the bias of the investigation and the trial.
Shmakov, a retired lieutenant colonel from the FSB’s Directorate K, previously overseeing industrial enterprises, was a colleague in the directorate of Vladimir Serdyukov, who in turn was a classmate and friend of the arrested Yevgeny Sosonkin. Sosonkin cites Serdyukov in his testimony as the source of information regarding Dmitry Milash’s alleged "systematic drug use." This information was completely false.
Media reports also claim that, in the lead-up to the founders’ meeting scheduled for October 12, additional arrests of individuals holding powers of attorney from Milash are planned, to ensure that nothing could interfere with the criminal plan masterminded by Natalia Veselnitskaya.
